Laptops for Teachers: Used Laptops Find a Second Life in Russia...

Partners with Russia offers laptop owners an "extended serivice plan." Your donated laptop can have its useful service life extended while making a meaningful contribution to the training of Russian young people. Even if you don't own a laptop you can still have a part in this project. By making a cash donation you can help us purchase a used laptop to meet this need.

“Thank you very much for the chance to use a laptop. It has produced a revolution in my life and in my work… I have a very heavy teaching load this year, but the computer you presented me is making it much easier to bear. It has been a big help in my work.” (Olga Sycheva, Ryazan Pedagogical University)

Olga is one of the teachers in Ryazan to whom we were able to give a laptop this year. A professor at the Pedagogical University in Ryazan and mother of two, Olga also teaches applied economics at the Center. We thought Olga and her work at the Center could benefit from the convenience of a laptop, just as her American counterparts have been doing for years. So, when many of you responded to our request for donations to help us acquire used laptops to take to Russia this summer we were very pleased to be able to give one to Olga.

Below, one of the laptops donated through Partners with Russia is being used to demonstrate the use of computer simulations in teaching economics to teachers attending a recent economics camp.
