Christmas Teachers Conferences

Since 1996, Partners with Russia and the Sodruzhestvo Center have cosponsored an annual Christmas Teachers Conference during the first week of the new year. These conferences are one of the ways in which we, along with our Russian partner organization, are providing valuable professional development opportunities for Russian teachers.

During these international conferences educators and education administrators from across Russia and the U.S. gather in Ryazan to take part in workshops devoted to issues such as business and legal training of youth, the use of computer simulation and business games in teaching economics, and citizenship training. Conference participants include officials of the Ministry of Education, regional and local education authorities and Russian and American educators teaching at secondary and higher education institutions. These conferences give participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and share experiences in equipping young people intellectually and ethically for life in a rapidly changing world.
